18. The Thirsty Crow
18. The Thirsty Crow
On a scorching hot day, a thirsty crow was flying around in search of water. After a long search, he finally spotted a pitcher in a garden. Excited, he swooped down to see if there was any water inside.
When the crow arrived at the pitcher, he peered inside and saw that there was very little water at the bottom. He tried to tilt the pitcher to drink, but it was too heavy. Frustrated, he tried to push it over, but that didn’t work either. The water was just out of reach.
After thinking for a moment, the clever crow noticed some pebbles scattered around the garden. He came up with a plan! The crow picked up one pebble at a time with his beak and dropped them into the pitcher.
With each pebble he added, the water level rose a little higher. The crow continued to drop in pebbles until, at last, the water reached the top. Overjoyed, the crow was finally able to quench his thirst and drink the cool water.
Feeling refreshed and satisfied, the crow flew away, grateful for his cleverness.
Moral of the story: Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Resourcefulness and determination can help you solve problems.
