The Boy Who Cried Wolf

 3. The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Once upon a time, there was a young shepherd boy who was tasked with watching over a flock of sheep in a village. Day after day, he sat on the hillside, watching the sheep graze. The boy quickly became bored and restless, longing for some excitement.

One day, just for fun, he decided to play a trick on the villagers. He ran down the hill, shouting at the top of his lungs, "Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!"

The villagers, alarmed, grabbed their tools and rushed up the hill to help the boy protect the flock. But when they arrived, there was no wolf in sight. The boy laughed at how he had fooled them, and the villagers angrily returned to their homes.

A few days later, the boy grew bored again and decided to repeat his trick. Once more, he ran down the hill, shouting, "Wolf! Wolf!" The villagers rushed up the hill once again, only to find no wolf. This time, they were even angrier, scolding the boy for wasting their time.

Not long after, a real wolf appeared. The wolf began chasing the sheep, and the boy, now truly frightened, cried out in desperation, "Wolf! Wolf! Please help me!"

But this time, the villagers thought it was another trick. No one came to help. The wolf attacked the sheep, and the boy was left alone to deal with the consequences of his lies.

Moral of the story: Liars are not believed, even when they tell the truth. Trust is easily lost and hard to regain.
