 40. The Magic Pot

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a poor farmer named Tom. Tom worked hard in his fields, but despite his efforts, he struggled to provide enough food for his family. One day, while plowing his land, he stumbled upon a strange-looking pot half-buried in the soil.

Curious, Tom pulled the pot out and brushed off the dirt. As he examined it, he noticed that it sparkled in the sunlight. Suddenly, a soft voice emerged from the pot, saying, “I am a magic pot! I can cook delicious food for you, but you must share it with those in need.”

Tom was astonished! He had heard tales of magic pots but had never believed them to be real. “What do I need to do?” he asked eagerly.

“Simply say, ‘Pot, pot, cook for me!’ and it will prepare a meal,” the pot replied. “But remember, always share your food with others.”

Excited, Tom took the pot home and gathered his family. They were all hungry, so he spoke the magic words, and to his amazement, the pot began to bubble and steam. Soon, a delicious aroma filled the room, and a hearty meal appeared.

Tom and his family feasted happily, and they felt so grateful for the food. Remembering the pot's instructions, Tom decided to share the leftovers with his neighbors, who were also struggling. The neighbors were delighted and thanked Tom for his generosity.

Word of the magic pot quickly spread throughout the village. Soon, everyone came to Tom for help. Each time he said the magic words, the pot produced enough food to feed not just his family, but also those in need. The village became a place of kindness and sharing, and the people grew closer as they helped each other.

However, as time went by, some villagers began to take advantage of the magic pot. They would come to Tom, expecting food without offering anything in return. They became greedy and careless about sharing with others.

One day, when Tom spoke the magic words, the pot began to bubble, but instead of a feast, it produced only a tiny portion of food. Confused and worried, Tom tried again, but the pot only produced a little more.

Realizing what had happened, Tom gathered the villagers and said, “The pot will only give us food if we continue to share and care for one another. It is not just for us to take; it is a gift that requires kindness.”

The villagers understood their mistake and vowed to be more generous. They began helping each other again, sharing their own food and resources. As they did, the magic pot responded by providing more and more food.

From that day on, the village thrived in harmony. Tom had learned that true magic lies in generosity and kindness, and the villagers promised to always share their blessings.
