The Mice and the Weasels

17. The Mice and the Weasels

Once upon a time, in a quiet little village, there was a community of mice who lived in fear of the weasels that roamed nearby. The weasels were crafty and cunning predators who would sneak into the mice's homes and capture them. The mice held meetings to discuss how to protect themselves from these threats.

One day, a wise old mouse suggested that they should form a plan to fight back against the weasels. The other mice, frightened and unsure, were hesitant to follow through with this idea. However, they knew they had to do something.

After much discussion, they decided to set a trap for the weasels. They worked together to gather materials, build a trap, and set it in an area where the weasels often prowled. They felt proud of their efforts and waited eagerly for the results.

When the weasels arrived and saw the trap, they were suspicious. Instead of getting caught, they decided to turn the tables on the mice. The weasels devised their own plan to trick the mice into thinking they were safe.

The next day, the weasels pretended to be friendly and offered to help the mice improve their defenses. The mice, eager for support, let their guard down and invited the weasels to join their community.

Once the weasels were in the village, they quickly revealed their true nature and began capturing the unsuspecting mice. The mice realized too late that their plan had backfired. They learned a hard lesson about trusting their enemies and not being too quick to lower their defenses.

Moral of the story: Beware of those who may appear friendly but have ulterior motives. Trust should be earned, not given blindly.
