The Three Little Fish
35. The Three Little Fish
Once upon a time in a clear blue pond, there lived three little fish named Finny, Bubbles, and Splash. They were the best of friends and loved to play together, exploring the wonders of their underwater world.
One day, while swimming near the surface, they overheard some older fish talking about a big, hungry catfish that had been spotted in the pond. The catfish was known for sneaking up on unsuspecting fish, and the little fish grew worried.
“We should build a safe home to protect ourselves from the catfish!” suggested Finny. “I’ll build a house made of reeds and plants.”
Bubbles, wanting to be different, said, “I’ll build a house made of pebbles! It will be strong and sturdy!”
Splash, the most playful of the three, giggled and said, “I’ll build my house with seaweed! It will look so pretty!”
The three little fish set to work. Finny quickly built his reed house, while Bubbles carefully arranged his pebbles into a solid structure. Splash, however, had so much fun playing with the seaweed that his house took a lot longer to complete.
As they finished their homes, the little fish felt proud of their creations. But soon, the catfish appeared! He swam through the pond, looking for a meal.
He spotted Finny's house first and said, “Little fish, little fish, let me come in!”
“Not by the scales on my fins!” replied Finny bravely.
“Then I’ll wiggle and squirm until I break it down!” said the catfish, and he did just that! With a powerful swipe of his tail, he knocked down Finny’s house, and Finny quickly swam away to Bubbles’ house.
The catfish then swam to Bubbles’ house and demanded, “Little fish, little fish, let me come in!”
“Not by the scales on my fins!” Bubbles replied fearlessly.
“Then I’ll wiggle and squirm until I break it down!” said the catfish. With a mighty crash, he knocked down Bubbles’ house too. Both Finny and Bubbles swam as fast as they could to Splash’s seaweed house.
Finally, the catfish reached Splash's house and said, “Little fish, little fish, let me come in!”
“Not by the scales on my fins!” Splash replied confidently.
“Then I’ll wiggle and squirm until I break it down!” declared the catfish, and he wiggled and squirmed with all his might. But no matter how hard he tried, the seaweed house held strong.
Frustrated, the catfish swam away in search of easier prey. The three little fish cheered in their safe seaweed home.
“We did it!” said Finny. “We’re safe together!”
From that day on, the little fish learned that working together and supporting each other was the best way to face any challenge. They celebrated their friendship and always looked out for one another.
Moral of the story: Working together and supporting each other can help you overcome challenges and keep you safe.
