The Tortoise and the Hare

 2. The Tortoise and the Hare

Once upon a time, there was a hare who was very proud of how fast he could run. He would often boast to the other animals in the forest about his speed and laugh at those who were slower than him, especially the tortoise. One day, tired of the hare’s teasing, the tortoise challenged him to a race.

The hare, amused by the tortoise's boldness, accepted the challenge, sure that he would win easily. The race began, and the hare dashed off quickly, leaving the tortoise far behind. Confident in his victory, the hare decided to take a nap midway through the race, thinking that he had plenty of time to win.

Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving slowly but steadily, never stopping or getting discouraged. While the hare slept soundly, the tortoise inched closer and closer to the finish line.

When the hare woke up, he was shocked to see the tortoise so far ahead. He sprinted as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise crossed the finish line just before the hare.

All the animals in the forest cheered for the tortoise. The hare hung his head in shame, realizing that his overconfidence had cost him the race.

Moral of the story: Slow and steady wins the race. Consistency and perseverance can overcome arrogance and haste.
